The Spartans (part two), In this three part series Bettany Hughes gives us a history of the Spartans.
It's at this point I'd like to say how annoying Bettany Hughes is. Just watch closely. You can easily see how, prior to rolling the film, she either sits in a particular position, opens her shirt and flings her chest open, flicks her hair over her head, stands with her legs apart, walks across the screen at a funny angle, or even rides a horse while passing the camera. Either way, this pathetic attempt to make her look sexy fails in every way. Whenever Bettany Hughes is presenting a programme the emphasis is not on the programme content, but on Bettany Hughes herself, and this makes her the most irritating and conceited historian I've ever come across.
